We’re pleased to introduce you to the newest member of our leadership team, Damon Avery.
With 11 years of insurance experience and 22 years in operational leadership and management roles, Damon brings a strong combination of insurance knowledge, team leadership and business operations experience to Crucial Insurance and Risk Advisors.
He has joined our team as Business Operations Manager, helping strengthen the systems, processes and people-focused support that allow our advisers and brokers to continue delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
A strong background in operations and insurance leadership

Damon has built his career across insurance, contact centre operations, service quality, systems, reporting and team management.
Before joining Crucial Insurance and Risk Advisors, Damon held several senior roles at Auto & General, including Senior Quality Assurance Manager, Business, Systems and Reporting Analyst, as well as Service Quality Assurance Team Leader. During his 11 years with the organisation, he developed a deep understanding of insurance operations, quality assurance, reporting, process improvement and team performance.
He has also held operational leadership roles with Unitywater, Queensland Motorways and Stellar Asia Pacific, giving him broad experience across customer service, business systems, stakeholder management and team development.

How Damon will support our team and clients
As Business Operations Manager, Damon will be focused on improving the way our team works behind the scenes, ensuring our advisers and brokers are supported with the right systems, processes and operational structure.
Most importantly, Damon shares our belief that strong client outcomes are built on strong internal foundations. His focus on building engaged teams and working closely with stakeholders aligns closely with how we approach advice, service and long-term client relationships.
