We’re excited to announce that our Managing Director, Tony Venning, has won the coveted Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Broker of the Year.
Presented by the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA), the Broker of the Year Award congratulates impressive senior brokers who shine in their professional capacity.
Earlier in the year, we announced how Tony won the regional award for Queensland. From there, Tony competed against the top brokers from other states – they were all judged on criteria such as demonstrated excellence in broking practice and client advocacy. With such a high calibre of finalists from other states, we were overjoyed to hear that Tony won the top award.
“I am absolutely honoured to receive the Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Broker of the Year” Tony said upon receiving the award. “The other state finalists are of the highest calibre so to be recognised alongside these outstanding broking professionals is very humbling.
“It is also very special on a personal note having spent over 10 years working closely with Steve Ball during my time at JLT. He had a significant impact on me personally and provided me with the opportunities to forge a wonderful career in insurance broking.
“Thank you to my team, in particular Alishia Oliver and my wife and co-owner Luanne who have been instrumental in the success of our growing business.”
In an announcement by NIBA, QBE Australia Pacific Chief Customer Officer, Commercial Lines, Jason Clarke, said, “Tony stood out in an impressive pool of finalists for his skilled customer service, client advocacy and extraordinary commitment to professional excellence.”
“Our industry is highly specialised, and at QBE, we believe its success heavily relies on our ability to partner with brokers who use their skill and expertise to help Australians manage their risk. We’re proud to work with NIBA to recognise and celebrate the best in the business and the invaluable contribution made by brokers to help raise the bar across the industry.”
Along with recognition for his services to his clients and the broking industry, Tony will receive a professional development prize valued in the region of $20,000.
We would also like to congratulate our Account Manager, Alishia Oliver, for winning the Young Broker of the Year Award for Queensland. Her unwavering commitment to her clients helped her achieve this award.
Alishia will attend a once-in-a-lifetime “Road to Cobargo” experience over four thrilling days in south-eastern NSW. Here, her leadership skills, resilience and ability to work as a team will be put to the test in a series of activities on the way to Cobargo. The Cobargo community was hit hard by the 2019 bushfires and 2021 floods – Alishia will have an opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding and regeneration activities in the area.
